Prince Edward Island

A lovely way to spend some vacation time with us is a day trip (or more!) to Prince Edward Island.

We are conveniently located only 8km or 5 miles (approx. 8 minutes) from the P.E.I Ferry terminal. The Ferry typically takes 75 minutes to make the crossing to Wood Islands. You can drive your vehicles onto the ferry or walk onto it. If you plan on taking a RV or Motorhome it is suggested you make a reservation and/or arrive 1:30-2 hours prior to departure (the Ferry can fill up quickly). You do not pay traveling onto the island but rather pay as you are leaving the island (via the Ferry terminal or the bridge).  The P.E.I Ferry has a food court, washrooms and one of the ferries has a Cows Shop that sells ice cream and various souvenirs (they are well known for their T-Shirts!). The Ferry can be a fun experience, standing outside watching the waves and hearing the horn blast, you might even get to see a whale! You can find more information about the P.E.I. Ferry here: P.E.I Ferry Website

Prince Edward Island has a booming tourist industry with various highly ranked golf courses, local attractions and the fabled Anne of Green Gables. For more information on tourist activities in P.E.I please click the link to their website here: P.E.I. Tourism

There are also some wonderful scenic routes that will take you along the P.E.I. coast: List of Scenic Routes

You can find directions to the P.E.I. Ferry on our directions page located in the drop-box under Contact (just reverse them as the directions are set to show how to get from the P.E.I. Ferry to our campground) or here: Directions to P.E.I. Ferry

Testimonials

“The staff is wonderful! We had tenters camping in front of us in the pouring rain and the staff brought down a BBQ for them to use because their own stove was not working. You don’t see hospitality like that very often!”

“Where in today’s society we barely let our kids play outside our own yards for safety concerns. I am a parent and have 2 boys who love Harbour Light Campground and I, as their parent, love the safe community feeling it has. It’s like being a kid in the 90’s again where you could walk down the street by yourself as a child with no fear. My boys love the freedom of going to the playground or biking with friends and parents not tagging along. Overall the best family campground in Pictou County.”

“Great family campground. Our family has been camping here for about 28 years. Our girls grew up there and now the grandchildren love to come. The manager Cameron is beyond helpful and the staff are super. What more could you ask for? Can’t wait for the next season. P.S. where else could you meet such great people? One big family!”
